We were lucky enough to be invited down to Cammerlaws Farm by lovely Edinburgh Cake Lady Pamela who was having her first ‘pop-up’ afternoon tea event with her mum on their farm in the Borders.
Two car loads of ladies headed down – our first cake road trip!
We were warmly welcomed by Pamela and her mum, Anne.
A welcome drink of prosecco was offered and we had canapés in the lounge whilst the afternoon tea was set up in the dining room.
The dining room was set up beautifully and everyone squealed with delight at the towers of sandwiches and cakes.
We devoured everything in sight and drank lashings of Anteaques tea.
There were still three full-sized cakes on the sideboard for us, but we all took a walk around the working farm to see the animals.
Back to the house for more tea and cake.
Considering it was their first event, we were suitably impressed. The hosts were perfect and the food divine.
Well worth a trip down to the Borders. You can keep up to date with the news of their next event on twitter @CammerlawsFarm and on Facebook.
You can read Pamela’s blog entry with the full menu.
Next Edinburgh Cake Ladies event
On the return journey to Edinburgh, Victoria and Katey kindly volunteered to run September’s cake event (it might be early October) since I’m off on my holidays next week.
Keep an eye on the blog, Facebook and twitter for details of the next baking event, the theme and how to apply for a place.
We’ve had our summer break, but we are BACK for the Autumn with a whole host of cake events planned.
